EDH Deck Power Levels

Power Levels or 'PL' of a deck in Commander is measured on a sliding scale from 1-10. Adding or removing certain cards to your EDH deck can have a drastic impact on how well your deck performs. typically, a play group will discuss beforehand to determine the minimum or maximum PL that all decks should be bringing to the table. It is important to agree on this to avoid taking the enjoyment out of the game for the other players.

If a player shows up to the table with a PL 7 or 8 deck while everyone else at the table is playing PL 2, 3 or 4, it is likely the difference in PL will mean a short and less-entertaining game will be had for those players looking to just experiment with their lower PL builds.
